Scrutineer retiring from active duty
Retirement for a scrutineer means stepping away from assignments while leaving a clean handover.
What this step is for
This step helps scrutineers end active work without leaving events or organizations dependent on unavailable people.
How it works
- Stop accepting new assignments
- Finish the events you have committed to
- Ask organizers to remove your access to events you no longer work. Access is per event and does not lapse on its own, so an old Supervisor tick quietly keeps giving you unpublished marks for competitions that are no longer yours.
- If your licence is a season licence, simply do not apply for the next season — it becomes Expired by itself. A lifetime officials’ licence does not expire; ask the federation to cancel or suspend it if that matters to them.
- Hand over what is not in the system: who to call, what your federation expects, the judgements that were never written down
Keep the account. Your history as an official hangs off it, and a second account later splits it.
What success looks like
The scrutineer can step away cleanly and the event ecosystem remains stable.
