Dancer account creation

This is the first real step in the dancer journey. If the account is wrong, every later step becomes slower and more manual.

What this step is for

A dancer account stores your identity, federation affiliation, licensing status, registrations, and rankings in Vote4Dance. You must create this account yourself (personal, not shared).

Where to go

Navigate to https://vote4dance.com

You’ll see the Vote4Dance homepage, with a link to create an account.

Before you start

Gather these details:

  • Your first and last name as your federation or event organizer knows them — not a nickname
  • Your email address
  • Ideally, the name of the school/club you’ll join (optional — you can add this later)

One account per dancer

Every dancer needs their own account, in their own name and with their own birth date. A parent does not register children from the parent’s account: create one account for each child.

Each account needs its own email address, because the email is the sign-in name. Two children need two different addresses. They can belong to a parent; they just cannot be shared between accounts.

Step-by-step: Create your account

Step 1: Start the signup

  1. Go to https://vote4dance.com and choose Create account
  2. Fill in the form:
Field Notes
First name Letters, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes only.
Last name Same. Use the name your federation and organizers know you by, not a nickname — this is how you are found in entry lists.
Email Your own permanent address. This is your sign-in name, and where registration confirmations and the check-in QR code go.
Country Required.
Password and Confirm password The two must match.
I accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Required.
  1. Complete the captcha if you are asked for one
  2. Submit

You are signed in immediately — there is no confirmation email to wait for and no link to click. If the email is already taken, Vote4Dance says “Email already exists”; use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page rather than creating a second account.

There is no birth date, club or licence on this form. Those come next.

Step 2: Complete your profile

Open your name at the top right → My account → Settings, and fill in:

  • Birth date: classes depend on age, and licences cannot be applied for without it
  • Gender
  • Nationality

Save. Join organization is refused with “Missing profile information” until all three are filled in, so do this before you look for your club. Dancers who already had an account should check these too.

What your account looks like after creation

  • You can sign in anytime at vote4dance.com with your email and password
  • Your name appears in the top-right corner after signing in
  • Your Account page holds your details, your Vote4Dance ID card (the QR code the check-in desk scans) and your profile photo
  • If your federation requires a licence, you need one before you can register for its events. Add your birth date first: licences and age groups need it.

Choosing your language

Vote4Dance is in English, Swedish, Spanish, Finnish, Norwegian (Bokmål), Dutch, German and French. The Dancer app has all of them except Spanish.

  • On the web, until you pick a language your browser’s language list decides. To pick one, use the globe at the top of the page, next to your language’s code (for example EN). When you are signed in, your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to other devices. You can also change it under My account → Settings → Language.
  • In the Dancer app, the first language in your phone’s language list that Vote4Dance has is used. You can pick another on the Login screen, or under Settings → Language.

If something goes wrong

What you see What to do
“Email already exists” You already have an account. Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page to get back in. Do not create a second account with another email: your results, licences and registrations would be split across two accounts.
Your name is misspelled Sign in, open your Account page, correct the name and save. Do this before you join a club or apply for a licence.
An error says the captcha is blocked A browser privacy setting or ad blocker is blocking it. Allow it for vote4dance.com, or try another browser.
Your school, club or organizer cannot find you later You are probably signed in with a different account than the one they know.

Check before you go on

  • You can sign out and sign back in.
  • Your name is spelled the way your federation knows it.
  • You have only one Vote4Dance account.
