Federation Rankings

Use this section only for the actual ranking workflow.

Use the role pages when you first need to decide who owns the task or whether the issue is policy, operations, or public visibility:

Start here

Choose the page by task:

  1. Federation admin
Use this to create rankings, review standings, and apply corrections in the correct division.
  2. Manual workflows
Use this when the published outcome must differ from the automated ranking result.
  3. Public rankings
Use this to verify what dancers, clubs, and visitors can actually see.

What is shared across all ranking pages

All ranking workflows still follow the same core rules:

  • every ranking belongs to one division
  • public links must use the correct division together with the ranking
  • one ranking should have one automated formula
  • recurring exceptions should become their own ranking, not a hidden override

End-to-end ranking path

Most ranking work follows this order:

  1. Federation creates the ranking in the correct division.
  2. Federation links the correct classes and validates the formula.
  3. Federation reviews the generated standings.
  4. Federation uses a manual workflow only if the published outcome must differ.
  5. Federation verifies the public ranking page.

Common mistakes

Most ranking problems still come from one of these:

  • the ranking was created in the wrong division
  • the needed federation classes were not added to the ranking
  • the ranking license policy was assumed instead of checked
  • someone expected one ranking to be federation-wide instead of division-specific
  • someone expected hidden public-versus-selection formulas inside one ranking
  • someone expected another ranking to act as a hidden tie-break source
  • a manual correction was applied to the wrong division ranking
  1. Start on this page only if you need shared ranking context.
  2. Open Federation admin for setup, review, and corrections.
  3. Open Manual workflows when the final published outcome must differ from the automated result.
  4. Open Public rankings to verify what end users can actually see.
