Scrutineer renew license

Renewal keeps the scrutineer eligible for future event assignments.

First: does this apply to you at all?

Officials’ licences are often lifetime — issued with no season, so they never expire and there is nothing to renew. The federation’s own guidance on the field says it: “Leave blank for a lifetime license (officials, music, DJ, etc.)”. Check yours in Account → Licenses before you plan a rollover you may not need.

If yours is a season licence: there is no renew button

A licence is not renewed in place — you apply again for the new season. The old one stays in history and turns Expired when its validity window closes; the new one is a fresh application that goes through the same route and the same four checks as the first.

Two consequences worth planning around:

  • Nothing carries over. Approval from last season does not shorten this season’s approval, and a club approval or a payment is needed again.
  • The season year is the thing to get right. A licence for the wrong season is as useless as an expired one, and it is the most common mistake in a rollover.

  1. Check what you hold now, and whether it has a season at all
  2. Apply for the new season’s item, by whichever route your federation uses — yourself, your club, or the federation issuing it directly
  3. Pay if it is priced
  4. Confirm it reads Active before you accept assignments for the new season
