Dancer retiring

Retiring usually means stepping away from active competition while keeping historical records intact.

What this step is for

This step helps dancers end active participation cleanly without leaving confusion for the club, organizer, or federation.

What retiring does not mean

It does not usually mean deleting the account or wiping historical results.

It usually means stopping active competition use while keeping records understandable.

How it works

There is no “retire” button on your account. Retiring is a change of membership status at the federation: a membership is active, pending or retired, and the federation sets it. What you do is tell your club and federation, and tidy up what is open:

1. Finish or cancel remaining registrations — a withdrawn registration should be Cancelled rather than left hanging.
2. Tell your club, so they stop entering you and so the team composition is sorted out.
3. Stop renewing your licence. It runs out on its own when its window closes, and becomes Expired.
4. Leave your results alone. Rankings, results and class memberships are history and stay.

Your account stays yours. Keep it rather than starting a new one later: your results, rankings and class memberships hang off that identity, and a second account splits them in two — which someone then has to merge by hand.

• Resolve open registrations before retiring.
• Let your organization know if team composition will be affected.
• Keep one primary account rather than trying to start over with a new account later.

The dancer stops active competition participation cleanly, while old records remain understandable and traceable.
