Licences for organizers

You do not need a licence of your own to use Manager. Manager access is given per event, in Manager → Event → Users, and no licence is checked for it.

What you do need to understand is how licences affect the dancers who register for your event, and, for some federations, your officials.

Dancers’ licences are checked at registration

When your event runs under a federation, its classes follow that federation’s rules. If a class requires a licence, a dancer without an Active licence cannot register for it. The class list shows the dancer why, before checkout.

You do not check licences by hand. Registration does it.
Pending and expired licences do not count. A dancer who is blocked has to sort it out with their club or federation, not with you.
A training competition (no federation) checks no licences.

Officials

Some federations require licences for officials, such as judges and scrutineers. These are issued by the federation or applied for by the official, not by you. Ask the federation which of your officials need one. See Scrutineer: Getting a license.

Your club and the federation

If your event runs under a federation and is organized by a club, ask the federation what it expects from the club before you open registration, for example that the club is an approved member. Vote4Dance itself has no approval step for linking an event to a federation: choosing the federation when you create the event is enough. See Joining a federation.

Before you open registration

Ask the federation:

Which classes require a dancer licence this season?
Do your officials need licences?
Does the federation expect anything from your club first?

Tell your dancers early that they need an Active licence, not a pending one, before registration closes.
